Promoting Hong Kong’s Financial Strengths in the Netherlands

The business seminar co-organised by the Netherlands Hong Kong Business Association and our office under the theme "Financial Services and FinTech, Business and Professional Services" in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on 7 July attracted about 100 audiences from the Dutch and European business sector! 

Speaking at the event, Ms Shirley Yung, Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union, highlighted the resilience of Hong Kong economy amid global challenges.  She emphasised that Hong Kong continued to serve as a trusted gateway to Asia and market global capital. She also shared with the audience on the recent efforts in boosting the development of financial services, fintech, and sustainable finance in Hong Kong.

The seminar was followed by a dinner reception with Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Mr Paul Lam, as the guest of honour. Mr Lam spoke on Hong Kong's distinctive advantages of enjoying the strong support of the motherland while being closely connected to the world under the "one country, two systems" principle.
