Congratulations to Cathay Pacific's relaunch of its direct flight between Rome and Hong Kong! This makes Rome Italy's second destination with a direct connection to Hong Kong after Milan.

Speaking at the gala dinner in Rome on 4 June to celebrate the relaunch of Cathay Pacific's direct seasonal flight between Rome and Hong Kong, Ms Shirley Yung, Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union, said 'this is more than just a resumption of flight - it is a celebration of renewed connectivity and also a strong vote of confidence in the growth of international travel and the ties between the two cities.' Ms Yung added that 'to maintain Hong Kong's role as a leading international aviation hub, the Hong Kong Government spares no efforts in investing in our world-acclaimed infrastructure', referring to the launch of the Third runway system at the Hong Kong International Airport and the increased cross-boundary transport links with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
