Hong Kong takes the spotlight at the 31st Vésoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema
On 15 February, the 31st Vésoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema in France paid tribute to Hong Kong cinema with a vibrant showcase of six Hong Kong films, an insightful roundtable discussion, and a special Hong Kong reception. Festivalgoers had the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the richness of Hong Kong's cinematic culture.
The roundtable on Hong Kong cinema, held on the same day, featured esteemed French experts in Asian and Hong Kong cinema, film distributors, acclaimed Hong Kong actress Patra Au, and renowned producer Teresa Kwong. Their discussion offered a deep dive into Hong Kong's film industry, its evolution, and its impact on global cinema.
Patra Au graced the festival with her presence, personally introducing two of her celebrated films, All Shall Be Well and Suk Suk, both of which have captivated audiences with their poignant storytelling.
Adding to the tribute, legendary director Ann Hui's masterpiece, Boat People, was screened on 15 February, further showcasing the depth and power of Hong Kong's cinematic legacy.
